 The forging process of wheel hub bearings refers to the process of processing metal billets into wheel hub bearings through heating and stamping techniques. Firstly, select suitable metal materials as raw materials for wheel hub bearings, such as high carbon steel and alloy steel. Then, the metal billet is heated to an appropriate temperature to make it soft and plastic. After heating, the metal billet enters the stamping process. After stamping is completed, the parts of the wheel hub bearing need to undergo heat treatment process. After the heat treatment is completed, the modified parts of the wheel hub bearing still need to be precision machined.

In order to meet the demand for lightweight, the flange plate forgings of wheel hub bearing units tend to have complex product shapes. Traditional manufacturing processes use two steps of upsetting and final forging for forming. However, this design has found that the product flow line, filling effect, and mold life are relatively poor. Therefore, a multi station forming process was proposed: upsetting → forward extrusion → pre forging → final forging → punching
